Happy Father's Day Matt!

I want to dedicate this post to my husband and the daddy of Ryan! He has no idea how wonderful of a father is. He spends every waking moment thinking of Ryan on what he can do to make him happy, proud, laugh, and just give him a kiss. He works full time, at a very stressful job, and goes to school full time, so he is gone 6am to 11pm, Monday through Thursday, and all day on friday. Now its summer classes so we do get to see him Tue. and Thur. in the eve, but that won't last long. I always complain that we never get to see him, but truthfully, it is must harder on Matt, atleast I am with Ry all the time. Its so hard, he is doing this all for his son, but in the meantime doesn't get to spend alot of quality time with him. But, Matt we just want you to know, how much we love you and aprretiate you. You are one of kind, and we are so blessed to have you in our life.
Fathers Day morning I decided to surprise him with breakfast before church. He hinted to some friends the night before that he was getting a big breakfast in the morning. So naturally I felt bad if I didn't. So I got up before they both did and made some eggs and sausage. If it wasn't such last notice and if he wasn't such a picky breakfast eater, we could have had more. So I slaved away at the stove, working so hard for such a wonderful man, and such a yummy breakfast. Ry was still sleeping so we actully got to eat by ourselves, which was wonderful...untlil I looked up at him and saw his face, it was a face of disgust. So after many moments of getting him to tell me the truth, he hated my breakfast!!! The eggs were too cheesy and the sausage just was not good, and had to know where I got it. So anyway I tried, we just like our eggs a different way. (sorry baby!)
I attached a few more pics of father's day. Hope everyone had a wonderful day. I never got to see my daddy, that was the first one, but I will see him tonight!

I just had to add this last one, it was so cute!

YOUR BABY CAN READ!

There is this baby program out there called “Your baby can read”. I bought the set when I became an Usborne Book consultant. It looked kinda cool, and hey I want my baby to read! So I stuck in the 1st out of 5 DVD. I think it was made in the late 80's early 90's. We watched 2 or 3 times then I realized this was really stupid, worse then some of the baby einstiens ( which I do love by the way). Then I was telling a friend about them, I was reading the box set to her, and here is what it said:

Disc 1- your baby will learn 22 words, have him watch it 2 times a day for a month.
Disc 2- 30 new words for 2 months.
Disc 3- 50 new words for 2 month while reviewing disc 2
Disc 4- 50 new words for 1 month while reviewing disc 2 and 3
Disc 5- your baby will be able to know 160 key words with 100's more keep reviewing all discs and your baby will love this.

All this starts at 3 months! WOW, what a regimen for a baby. Well 'Aleka' the docs daughter is at the beginning of each disc showing she is able to demonstrate all this by age 9 months. (CRAZY) Well here is Aleka's updates, she knew 100 words at 1 year, could read at 1st grade level at 18 months, 10-20 books a day at age 2, at age 4 was reading at grade 11, in high school read over 250 novels.

So with all that we decided we did not want a freak child. Yes, I do think reading is VERY important, I would love to have him reading early, but this is just too much. Me and Matt are not that disciplined so there is no way we could make our child do all that. Well in the meantime me giving up so fast I saw a really long infomercial on this box set. And I sat there watched it, well it was still crazy but I was being brought in by all their savvy talk about it. That is when I decided to give it a try.

On June 2nd I started MY baby can read mission. We only watch it once a day, not twice, I feel that is too much. Well...it is AMAZING!!! By the 3rd time of him watching he recognized the word HI and would say it with out the video saying it first. When 'arms up' would come on he would raise his arms, when 'mouth' would come up he would point to him mouth...and so on. I just sat there next to him on the cough with MY mouth wide open, and I was like there is no way this is happening, I felt like I was in a sci-fi movie. Every time we watch it he does more and more. We have flash cards with the words on them and he is starting to recognize those words and doing the actions with out me saying them. So now I feel like I am ready to be one of those moms on the infomercial. So, to say the least I am very impressed!

Keep up the good work Ry!

Here are some more pics from the KBK carnival.

KBK... in the park!

This was the long awaited summer week at church. Our kids bible camp! WOW, what a week the kids absolutely loved it, the had a wonderful time...and for the adults, I think we needed a nap more than what the kids did after we got home. Kids get to learn about Jesus all week long, its pretty cool to see their little minds working. They are so sweet and innocent. I work with the 4 year olds, 3 adults and 11 kids...which is way to many 4 year olds. Its amazing we don't lose any of them. Their little prayers are so heart felt, the ones who really pay attention anyway, the others thought Jesus was here to bring us our snow cones we got everyday! Which I guess is true too.

One thing I realized this week is the difference between little boys and little girls, WOW. The little girls just have their attitudes when they don't want to listen, little boys just plan ignore you. The girls would actually put their had up and would get really sassy, the boys just went deaf. So I think it was huge lesson on what I need to work on with Ryan! I was just amazed on the difference in girls and boys.

The church is so micromanaged with all of the activities, the kids get play time, class time, craft time, song and dance time, and of course the beloved snow cone! The last day is a huge water gun fight, we usually have the fire truck come out and spray us all, but their was a call they were on so they weren't able to come, but we all got soaking wet from the guns, the kids love shooting the teachers.

All mean while back at the church, our kids 3 years and under are being watched by other church members. So Ry got to be at the church all week playing with other kids, and our wonderful friend Kathy was his teacher and she did a wonderful job (thanks Kath) and she even made the coolest craft with the kids with their foot print and pics she had taken all week... she is so busy and she still find time to do this! She is a true blessing to have in our life. Well to say the least our little boy was VAMISHED! He was asleep everyday before we made it to the stop sign on Goshen.

Then tonight we had the carnival at churh so that way the parents could see everything the kids did all week. All the songs we did as well with the dances...lots of kids over 500 kids everyday.

And, this would be Ryan singing along to J-E-S-U-S, give me a J, you got your J you got your J, give me an E, you got your E you got your E, give me an S, you got your S you got your S...well you get the point!

Ryan had so much fun with all of this, he had his first snow cone tonight. Of course it was mostly ice, I couldn't give him that much sugar before bed ( I know I know, mom is just no fun)...he knew he wasn't getting that much red on his spoon as mommy was! He walked every where, he is becoming a little boy so fast. So independent. So all in all this week was fun but I am happy it is over, I am tired!

Am I really becoming a ... BLOGGER!

Well, I read everyones blogs...why not have my own! I never really thought about doing this, I never thought I had enough to say and that no one cared about what I have to say. But today it hit me, I do have alot to say, I talk ALL the time. I do have alot going on, well with my son, my husband, work, church, bible study, family, friends... and so much more I could type forever. So I am going to give it a try who know I may become addicted to it, and may fall away. I am home enough by myself in the evenings after Ry goes to bed and waiting till 10:20-10:30 for Matt to get home from school and then for him to tell me has homework to do or has to get stuff ready for the next day. So I figured lets get out of poor Matt's hair and into everone else's hair. So cheer me on, and support me, bookmark me and read me...PLEASE. I may be blogging for myself, but hey if it helps great! Maybe this could be the journal I keep promising myself I am going to start! Well, obviously I am new at this so my page will be boring for a bit, but as I get better it will get better! I will add pics and more blogs soon!
