yum yum chex mix

For what ever reason the last time I got groceries, I got Rice Chex Mix. We have had these before, but just not for awhile. Well its on the healthier side of the snack chart for Ry, so this has become a snack for him. Well lets just say he has become obsessed with them. But when he has bowl of them he will find a quit spot to sit and him and Clementine will share them. Its very sweet.

Both sets of these pictures were taken on different days, so don't worry his full diet does not consist of chex mix!

Why God made the shoulder

God made the shoulder for your little ones head to rest on when they are fast asleep and you have to get them out of the car and transfer them to their bed.

not so sweet baby any more!

Everything was to good to be true. All good things must come to a halt right...no not right, I don't want it to be true!

I don't like to brag, but I guess since its not true anymore I can indulge in my memories. Since Ryan was just a few months old, we were able to walk into his room, bed time or nap time and give him a kiss and put him in his bed and he would roll right over and we would not hear from him for another 10-12 hours. It was even so perfect that when Matt and I are both able to put him in bed we would play who would get the last kiss. And poor Ry would get so annoyed with this to where he would start to huff and puff at as. But it never failed he would go to bed with absolutely no problems at any time we wanted to. I am even guilty at wearing him out so hard during the day so I could get him in bed by the time The Office comes on, on Thursdays which is 7:30. ( I know shame on me!) Then not only that, but he would take a 2-3 hour nap everyday right on schedule, and I could usually always count on 3 hours.

Well, not any more! This past week he has been a monster. I don't know what has happened. At times I would wake him before I went to bed and change his diaper since he pees so much, and I can't do that any more either. When I would say 'you want to go to bed' he would shake his head yes and run to his room, now he shakes it no, and screams and runs away from me. Then when I finally catch him, I have to hold on tight because he will leap over my shoulder to where the first couple of times, I would just catch his feet before he fell. And I have to pry him off of me to get him in his crib. And then I throw him in it and dart out. No eye contact what so ever. Which also means no more kisses, hugs and night time prayers :( He runs when it is story time, because he knows bed time is right around the corner. He still pretty much goes straight to sleep and sleeps the same amount of time, and wakes up all energy and giggles. But its just not the perfect mommy, baby time any more, my memories were right out of a parenting magazine and I didn't even know it, and now that its gone, I am so so sad.

Its the same thing with bath time. Tonight I actually gave him a bath standing up while he was crying the whole time.

What happened to my sweet sweet baby...will he ever return?!?

not a prince to everyone!

Last night our friends CJ and Keri came over with their daughter. Which I can't believe Holly is 15 months now, Ryan seemed so much older than 4 months when she was born. But anyway, things are getting so fun with the kiddos, they can actually all play together now!

Well, last night before they left I told Ryan to go give Holly a hug and kiss. Which he so politely did, you know like a prince. Well he walked over to her hugged her and since she is a whole head smaller than him, he kissed her forhead. It was the sweetest thing ever. We all sat there in awe as he made his way back to the couch. Once he did Holly looked over at us with the look of disgust. And immediately started rubbing he forhead to get the kiss off. Ryan left this huge glob of drool on her forhead with his ever so sweet smooch.

So I guess everything would be in the eye of the beholder! A prince to one, and nasty to another!

Sir Prince Ryan Matthew

Well I have been informed that my son will marry Claire Louise Mitchell.

" I am going to marry baby Ryan because he is a prince and he is not dirty", these are the words right out Ryan's future wife's mouth.

Claire is the daughter of our friends Shaun and Carrie. Shaun told this to Matt last night. You see, Claire is only 3 and she already found her prince...how sweet is that. A couple of months ago I babysat Claire and Sophia for about a half hour. While I was watching them, they wanted to play dress up. And while they were getting dressed, Claire informed me that she was going to marry baby Ryan because he was not a skank. You read that right, a skank. I about died. It was so hard not to laugh, but you know how kids are, if you laugh then it makes it okay.

Well a couple of weeks ago when I was telling Carrie about it, she was just floored. She has no idea where she heard a word like that. But, we both could not help but chuckle at it. Well since then, Claire keeps saying how she is going to marry him since he is not dirty. So I guess Carrie talked to her about the word 'skank'.

So all in all, I am proud to announce that my son is dirt free, and that he is a prince at the Mitchell household. And this is how he found his future wife!

I am thankfulful for the Love in my life

Well we made it all the way through the holiday. It is now Tuesday and we are only left with memories. Our Thanksgiving was wonderful. I wasn't really looking forward to it, not for any reason just wasn't excited about it. That could be why it was so wonderful. The food was up and beyond my expectations...especially the turkey, which I cooked.
The day started off with the Macy's parade like it always has with me, my mom and grandma. But now it is Ryan and I since Matt thinks its stupid and a waste of time to watch. Ryan on the other hand really liked it, he danced with showgirls, sang with the songs, and watched very intently when Sesame Street came on.
And then around 1 everyone came over. We have both sides to the family over, there is only 10 of us combined. Matt and I have been together forever so our families are pretty close, and I am just not doing the 2 Thanksgivings in one day any more. So while we waited on everything to be finished the dads do what they normally do, sit on the couch, watch TV and slowly fall asleep. The rest of us went outside, they guys played catch in the street and we played with Ry.
Then came the food and time to eat...yummy yummy yummy! Ryan did not eat as well as I thought he would, he loved the turkey though, and ofcourse the famous bread and butter! Then we even had a huge mess of spilled milk, that surprisingly did not turn into a catastrophe, we just cleaned up and continued to eat
Once everything is cleaned up we all play games. Our dear friends Jason and Loni come over every year. We all play games, they stay the night and we (more they) go shopping on black Friday. While Ry was still up we didn't get to play very much, they guys played building blocks with him for awhile, which did not last long they ended up entertaining their selves and forgot about poor Ry, notice the picture with Ryan getting on the table and Jason's head in the background not even noticing Ryan is gone
