training time
I know its early to start potty training, but I figured why not let him get used to the idea. He sees me go potty all the time, its just the two of us at home so I have to keep the door open and he just chooses to keep me company.

I am so very proud of him for becoming a big boy, buy it brings a tear to my eye.
So now our morning routine will get up...go potty...and brush our teeth. That will also be our bedtime routine. Brush teeth...go potty...take a bath...then go to bed. I have no idea how well this will work, but we are going to try it.
The only things we are adding is potty and teeth at the sink. We are going to start brushing at the sink so he can spit. We have always done it at the changing station while I am changing his diaper. I brush first then he takes over. He has always loved brushing his teeth. The toothpaste he is still using he can swallow. So we will finish this tube continue practice spitting then buy the big boy toothpaste. He did really good at spitting for the first time this morning, now it just sprayed out versus a nice spit like we do, but I didn't even know he was capable of spitting. Its probably something his father or uncles have taught him. He even rinsed his brush like mommy.

I have been a bad blogger!
It has been sometime last week since I have actually blogged. For some reason I just don't have the time lately. Thing have just been crazy with family stuff. Plus I really don't have any interesting stories.
I still need to blog about last week at church...
I did go the movies with a friend on Friday night, we saw Night at Rodenthe. It was horrible. It might have been 1 to many glasses of wine. But I was following the story just fine, and it just did not grab us. If they would have put an extra half hour on it and make us feel it then it could have been MUCH better. I was very disappointed...
Saturday, we went to a friends new house and helped them paint. It was very nice, we were able to get away for an afternoon with our Ry and it was nice to be with all adults.
Saturday night we FINALLY watched this movie, Black Book about WWII, my dad has been hounding us to watch. And I will admit it was good, actually really good.
Sunday, Matt and I went to the mall all by ourselves, he had to get a suit and we did a little shopping. That was really nice as well.
Then there is Ryan! BARNEY BARNEY BARNEY! I just don't know the obsession with him, I think alot of it is the music and dancing, he really likes the Wiggles too. He has been caring around the Wiggles DVD case every where. He has been trowing more fits lately as well. Yesterday when we were leaving the church he was screaming on the way to the car...you know the fake screaming because he is not getting his way. So, Matt and I decided to fake scream and cry with him. And it worked he stopped immediately and looked at us like we were crazy. Now if we could only do this in public or the grocery store and not have people look at us like we were horribly mean to our children, that would be great.
That has been our life in a nut shell for the past week. Hopefully I will have time to post more this week. I do need to do Part 3 of parenting as well. My notes are sitting right here just waiting to be typed. I won't have as much down time here for awhile though. My brother is going to come live with us...I am totally excited about the free babysitter. But we have to get the 3rd bedroom cleaned out and set up before he moves in. Which will be me working by myself.

The zoo again
We visited the zoo again on Sunday. It was much better this time. It was a very pretty day. We met Tiffany and Todd up there, it was her employee appreciation day...this is why we have been so much lately. Then we also met Kathy, Bob and the girls up there. So we had alot with us. And it was a lot of fun. We did see more stuff this time.

This last video is me and Ry dancing to Polka music. I know I have mad skills...so don't steal them. It was just a fun moment with mommy and son ( I said it, son...not baby).Ryan did much better with the animals. Sure he was still kinda scared of some of them, but he was worse in the beginning of the day, once we ate he did much better...go figure!
We went to the Sea Lion show, and that was fun, the kids were just amazed with them.We also did the carousel, that is always fun. Ryan didn't seem to enjoy as much this time though.

Barney, Elmo, Mickey Mouse, oh my
When did it all start? My child within the last 2-3 weeks has been obsessed with Barney. Before that it was Elmo and Cookie Monster, and now it is becoming Mickey Mouse. It just happened. We don't have an over abundance of these characters in our house. Well it all started so cute and innocent, well know he is that child that even the color of Barney on something will stop him in his tracks. Yesterday we went to Wal-Mart and he found every Barney, Elmo and Mickey Mouse on every shelf that was in the store. When we would pass a bright colorful shelf you could see his eyes scanning it for someone he knew. I swear this happened over night...is this how it all starts?!?

Authur Day at the Park...by PBS
Today was a lot of fun. We are all so tired, Ryan was in bed asleep by 7:15. It is going to be an early night for me as well. Ryan did get to met Clifford today, after an hour wait in line. It did move pretty fast, but it was a very long line. Everything was free so everyone was there. The whole time we were in line and could see Clifford Ryan was waving, he would not take his eye off him. I think he was leery but excited. Well can you guess what happened when we got up there, he cried. Matt sat him on his lap and he immediately started screaming, but he might have done that with any one. He was okay once Matt took him, but you only get 2.5 seconds per child, so that is what we got to accomplish with Clifford the Big Red Dog. They also had Sesame Street there, I have no idea what characters, I heard Elmo. Super Why and Curious George was also there, I think Ry would have liked to see them too, but there were so many people there.

We went with our friend Shaun and his girls Claire and Sophia, Carrie was out of town. They had a lot of fun. I was told today by Claire that her and Ryan were going to get married when they grew up, and she was going to be his wife and he was going to be her husband. It was really sweet. After we left there we went to the Science Center, the kids loved playing there as well. We walked around for bit decided the food was to expensive and to go somewhere else. It was just the right temperature today, it did get a little warm in the sun, but we did okay
.
This last picture is just really cute, it is Matt and Ryan sharing an apple this morning.

Just a couple days off.
Well I have had the last two days off, and they were wonderful. I came home Wednesday night and did not leave the house till Friday afternoon. Well I did have another dentist appt Thursday morning, but my dad came over and watched Ry, I was only gone an hour, so I am not counting that. But it was nice not to have to do anything. I think it might have made Ry a little stir crazy though. He has just been whiney till we left Friday afternoon, and he was completely fine while we were gone...thank God cause we had a lot of errands to run, including getting his hair cut.
Thursday afternoon, my friend Corie came over with her little girl, Chloe. I just love play dates. Chloe is getting bigger and bigger every time I see her, she will be crawling before we know it, and Ryan and her can become true play friends. I think Ryan will be excited for that, he didn't know what to do with a baby, even though he is very good with her. He gave Chloe her first 'knuckle up'. It was just nice hanging out with Corie again, we used to get to do it alot more, then you know kids come along! She is going to be moving closer to us, well atleast on this side of the river, so we are very excited that we can see each other so much more.

So I will let you know how everything went sometime next week!!!

Yes, in the above picture his outfit is on backwards. And yes, in the below picture he has powdered sugar all over his face, I was bad and was eating one in front of him so I had to give him one. He usually is not allowed anything sugar based, but he loved it,everyone deserves a treat every now and then.
So I will let you know how everything went sometime next week!!!
